you are absolutely right. I do see regional airports as a additional and necessary infrastructure for underdeveloped regions. Not only to connect them with “the rest of the world” (feeder/commuter service), but also to assure, that the industry has access to the market as well. But I do see a problem as well: many regional airports can only generate traffic in addition with public-service obligations on these routes. I do agree with this operation! But in fact, regional airports should develope there own niche-market.
