Are You Good At Selling Yourself?

This question was asked in LinkedIn a while ago. My preferred answer:
“I find the phrase not only cheap but to ‘buy into’ means you allow yourself to be a part of the meat market, and become an object/subject to be bartered.” [Sapphire]

Thanks to LinkedIn, I have the fortune to have become friends with Sapphire rather lately, a philisophical artist, a rare gemstone. She convinced me to create a blog to address philosophical topics we discuss and I could convince her in return to join in as a co-author on it. She is excellent to trigger the important thoughts and to think through to the real basics. Something my friends tell me I am good at? She is a natural, an expert!

I do think we far too much try “selling” and many people have forgotten the good old habbits of reliability, honesty, trust and faith. We spend all our time making money to spend on luxuries and saving it for spare time we do not have. We forgot how to live.

Many managers nowadays aren’t any better than Ebenezer Scrooge and one just wishes the Ghosts of Christmas to visit them! What is important? The money you make? The money some unknown investor makes? Welcome to the Grey Gentlemen! If you are a manager, what are your values? Think about it!
